Message Summary

In the series, Mission Accomplished, the teaching team walks through the last week of Jesus' life. In this first sermon we examine the day Jesus entered Jerusalem and the moments that you shouldn't miss.

1. Don't miss the impact of "Under the Radar" believers. In the opening scenes of this momentous week, we encounter two disciples tasked with a seemingly mundane mission—to procure a donkey for their teacher. Yet, hidden within this simple act lies a profound truth: the role of "under the radar" believers in advancing God's kingdom. Like these unnamed disciples and the donkey's owners, many faithful servants toil behind the scenes, their contributions often overlooked but vital to God's unfolding plan. Consider the countless individuals serving tirelessly in various capacities within our church and communities—the nursery volunteers, special needs caregivers, prayer warriors, and more. Their names may not adorn the annals of history, but their impact echoes throughout eternity.

2. Don't miss Jesus unveiling His identity as the King. On that fateful day, Jesus rode triumphantly into Jerusalem, fulfilling ancient prophecies and revealing his true identity as the long-awaited Messiah. The crowds hailed him as their King, yet their expectations of a political savior would soon give way to the harsh reality of the cross. Jesus came not to meet their earthly desires but to offer them something far greater—a path to salvation and eternal life.

3. Don't miss the proper response to the King. This moment in Jesus' life shows us that worship is the only reasonable response to seeing Jesus as King. As Jesus made his triumphant entry, the crowds laid down their garments and palm branches, acknowledging his kingship and authority. Their cries of "Hosanna" reverberated through the streets, expressing both adoration and a longing for deliverance. Yet, their understanding of salvation would soon be challenged as Jesus embarked on his journey to the cross.
